Being present is a popular theme in contemporary spirituality literature. From Jesus’ “abide in me,” to de Caussade’s 17th century classic, The Sacrament of the Present Moment, to Eckert Tolle’s The Eternal Now, to Thomas Keating’s “boundless Presence,” and, of course, much, much more. And yet we still ask, “How can I be present to this moment … and this one … and this one … and ….”
In today’s Quiet Day, Rev. Jim will offer reflections on being present. From 9:30 to 1:00 in the sanctuary. All are welcome. Please bring your Bible.
Quiet Day includes teaching, quiet solitary time, and sessions of communal silent prayer in the Sanctuary. Participants are welcome to the Sanctuary, to quiet areas for reading or journaling, or to walk our beautiful campus. Come to a Quiet Day for an introduction to what the Contemplative Life at Saint Barnabas might offer you, or to sustain you in that life.
All are welcome.
